Actor Saif Ali Khan was arrested by Police and was later released on Bail yesterday.
Saif, leading actor and the Nawab of Pataudi, was arrested by the Mumbai Colaba police yesterday for beating up a businessman in a star hotel in Mumbai. The actor had a scuffle with Iqbal Meeer Sharma, an Indian origin South African businessman in the Japanese restaurant, Wasabi, Hotel Taj on Tuesday night.
“I did it for self-defence. It was a provoking attack from Sharma. I can prove it in the court. I’m a law abiding citizen. I regret that this happened,” said Saif.
Film producer Bilal Amrohi and another businessman Shakeel Ladak were also arrested along with Saif for their involvement in the scuffle.
Police are investigating the matter registering a case against all those involved.
Top star Kareena Kapur is in a serious relationship with Saif Ali Khan.
