‘Oru Nadigaiyin Vakkumoolam’ is the comeback film for Sonia Agarwal as a heroine.
The film tells the story of an actress who rises to the top, from the rags to the riches. The life and struggle, the difficulties the actress faces at the hands of the wrongful persons in the industry and outside in the society is portrayed through a bold script.
It is said the story of the film is inspired from the life of yesteryear actress Kanchana, who was once reigning the industry but saw a sudden fall due to some developments in her personal life. The actress’ successful legal battle and the subsequent donation of all her riches to Tirumala Tirupathi Temple was the part that made the filmmakers to take inspiration from her real life story.
Sonia Agarwal has portrayed four different looks in the film. First she comes as a poor village girl, who struggles to lead a basic life. Then she portrays a girl who comes to K-town in search of a chance to act. In the third, she becomes an established actress. The fourth look is suspense, the filmmakers say.
Along with Sonia Agarwal the film has Nicole, Punnagai Poo Geetha, Kovai Sarala, Ganja Karuppu, RajKapoor, Urmila Unni and Jothi Lakshmi in prominent roles.
The film is written and directed by Rajkrishna. Music is scored by Aathish. Naga Krishna has handled the camera. Editing is by Vasu. Na. Muthukumar and Sembiah have written the lyrics.
Punnagai Poo Geetha has produced the film under the banner SG Films.
After her separation and divorce from the failed marriage with director Selvaraghavan, the actress returned to films and did many character roles in films. And, when she wanted to establish herself again in the industry and regain the glory that she enjoyed before her marriage, this script came her way and she did not wait to grab it!
