After ‘Siva Mansula Sakthi’ in 2009 and ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’ in 2010’ director Rajesh M is coming out with yet another laugh-riot film, and for this third outing the director is again joining hands with comedian Santhanam, who again is playing a pivotal role, a part that is played at par with the footage of the main hero of the film. Yes, Santhanam is almost a second hero in this new film that is in its final stages of its production.
‘Oru Kal Oru Kannadi’ (OKOK) has Udhayanidhi Stalin, the producer doing his acting debut as hero, Hansika Motwani as female lead and Andrea Jeremiah in another female lead role, and Arya and Sneha doing the cameo.
The title of the film OKOK was derived from the first lines of the song ‘Oru Kal Oru Kannadi…’ of Rajesh’s debut film ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’. The story is about two friends, and a girl who comes in between their friendship. The incidents that happen between these three are told with a high dose of comedy.
Arya appears in the climax in a wedding scene, a crucial one for the film. The dialogues of Santhanam is again expected to create a wave and become a rage among youngsters, particularly the opening dialogue “Vaaliba Vayodhiga Anbargale…!” that is in line with “Ovvoru Manusanukkum Oru Feeling…!” from ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’ and ‘Nanbaenda…!” from ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’.
“With the dedicated performance from Udhayanidhi Stalin and Santhanam doing his best job as usual the film has come well more than what we expected. Hansika will also look fabulous in the film. And, great tunes from Harris Jayaraj,” says Rajesh M, the director.
Harris Jayaraj has joined Rajesh for the first time. Balasubramaniem has handled the camera and the film is produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies.
‘Oru Kal Oru Kannadi’ is a December release.
