After his stupendous success of ‘Pasanga’ and impressive ‘Vamsam’ director Pandiraj is coming out with yet another movie, ‘Marina’ that is again a different film with its content and presentation!
And, this time he again join hands with kids portraying the real life story of the uneducated children who work as snack sellers on the sands of Marina beach for their daily bread.
The film’s story has a love couple too whose relationship with the beach is as close as it is for the children working there. Popular TV host Siva Karthikeyan and ‘Kalavani’ fame Oviya play the couple, a crucial part in the film.
The film also has other familiar faces like Jayaprakash and Pandian who played vital roles in ‘Pasanga’.
The film is said to be inspired by Mira Nair’s ‘Salaam Bombay’ which depicted the life of the street children of Mumbai.
Music of ‘Marina’ is done by debutant Girish and camera is handled by Vijay. Pandiraj himself has produced the film under his newly formed banner Pasanga Productions!
One of the highlights of the film is that many leading actors and directors do a guest appearance for a song ‘Vanakkam Vazhavaikkum Chennai…’ the song that has lyrics of Na. Muthukumar tells about the greatness of the city of Chennai. Prakash Raj, Sneha, Vimal, directors Ameer and Sasikumar feature in this song.
‘Marina’ audio was released on Jan 9 on the beaches of Marina. The film is expected to release in February this year!
