‘Dhoni’ is the first film for Prakash Raj in Tamil as director. He has already directed a film in Kannada (remake of ‘Abhiyum Naanum’). ‘Dhoni’ is made as a bilingual film – Tamil and Telugu.
The film speaks about the differences that arise between a father and son in deciding the son’s career. The son wants to become a cricketer, a player like Mahendra Singh Dhoni but father wants him to pursue MBA.
Prakash Raj plays the father and Telugu director Puri Jagannath’s son Akash Puri plays the son. Radhika Apte, Brahmanandham, Nasser, Murali Sharma and Thalaivasal Vijay are doing vital roles in the film.
Cricketer Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is doing a small appearance in the film. Prabhu Deva, who is a close friend of Prakash Raj, is also appearing in a cameo role.
Prakash Raj has also written the story, screenplay and dialogues for the film.
‘Isaignani’ Ilayaraja is scoring the music. K V Guhan is handling the camera. Kishore is taking care of editing of the film.
The film is produced by Prakash Raj’s home production company Duet Movies.
The audio of the film was released on January 28 and already becoming hit numbers.
‘Dhoni’ is getting released on February 10th.
