Prakash Jha Directs Hindi Remake of Jiiva’s ‘Ko’!

KhoNobody can forget the stupendous success of the film ‘Ko’! The K V Anand directed film was one of the super duper hit films of this year that grabbed the attention of many a filmmaker in the neighbouring film industries.

Bollywood was no exception and the remake rights were sold to make it in Hindi. Yes, it is now being remade in Hindi with Ranbir Kapoor already under consideration to do the role that Jiiva played in the original. The latest is that filmmaker Prakash Jha is being roped in by the producers of the movie to direct the remake, and according to sources close to the director, who is reputed for making political subjects like ‘Rajneeti’, some new names have been considered for the main lead in the place of Ranbir Kapoor.

The remake rights of the film was sold for a whopping price of Rs. 1.5 Crore, the highest price paid in recent times after ‘Ghajini’. Many south films are now being remade in Bollywood after the success of ‘Ghajini’ and recently ‘Bodyguard’ and ‘Singam’.
