Parthiepan’s Daughter Keerthana is Mani Ratnam Heroine!

Mani Ratnam is all set to start his next mega project soon! While the hero and the major technicians of the film were finalized long back the director was still undecided on the choice of the heroine.
First it was Tulsi, yesteryear heroine Radha’s second daughter and sister of K V Anand’s ‘Ko’ fame Karthiga, who was being discussed and later Kamal Hassan’s second daughter Akshara Kamal’s and actor-director Parthiepan’s daughter Keerthana’s names figured in the list of probable, but Mani has now finalized Keerthana as his film’s heroine! Yes, it is Keerthana, who is going to pair opposite young hero and debutant Gautham, who is the son of yesteryear Tamil hero ‘Navarasa Nayagan’ Karthik in the upcoming film of Mani Ratnam! Keerthana has already acted in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Kannathil Mutthamittaal’ as a child artist.
The film is about the plight of the Rameswaram fishermen at the hands of the Sri Lankan forces on the seas. The film also has an intense love story with soul stirring music in line with ‘Mouna Raagam’, ‘Roja’ and ‘Alaipayuthe’! A R Rahman will score music and Rajeev Menon will handle the camera.
