Dhanush’s ‘Why this Kolaveri di…’ song has not only taken this country by storm it has also become an international hit with many sections of people are going crazy and paying attention to the number.
CNN International, the international News Channel has recognized the song by placing it at the top of their rating among the world’s top hit songs of 2011. The song has been selected for the Gold award by Youtube.com for getting most number of hits in the year 2011. In the search engines on the web the song is listed first when ‘why’ is typed that’s the popularity the number has gained.
The Chennai City Traffic Police has also used this song in their LED display campaigns for safe two wheeler ride. The song’s first line ‘Why this Kolaveri?’ is used in many such displays at the traffic signals in the city. The song features in the film ‘3’ that is directed by Aishwarya Dhanush and played by Dhanush and Shruti Hassan in the lead roles.
